We love watching movies when the main character ends up falling in love with her best friend. Honestly, we wish it would happen to us in real life. Ending up with someone who has been there all along instead of going on blind dates and swiping through countless dating apps would make the dating game so much easier. Even though we know many couples that were friends first, we haven't been lucky enough to end up with guys in our friend groups. Perhaps it wasn't meant to be. Nonetheless, the idea is beautiful. You already know so much about the person that it actually feels pretty natural to end up falling in love with all their quirks and imperfections over the years you spend together.
